Hale Selected in 20th Round by Toronto
Coast to Coast alum (Australia 2001) and current Ohio State standout, Jake Hale, was recently selected in the 20th round of the MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. Hale was the Buckeye's closer for most of the season and led the team with 10 saves before being moved into the starting rotation. He started four of his last five appearances of the season and finished 4-3 on the year with a 4.25 ERA, including a nine-inning complete game in a 4-2 win over Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament. He appeared in a team-high 26 games and was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team with two wins. Hale was selected in the 24th round of the 2005 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians.
