Horton Leads Nation in Stolen Bases

C2C alum - Jalen Horton - led Paine University (NCAA DII) and the nation in stolen bases this spring with 42 swipes. Horton racked up another 7 steals during the conference tournament for a grand total of 49 in this, his freshman season.  Horton was named to both the All-Tournament and All-League teams for the 2016 season.
 
Horton, a native of Des Moines, IA (Hoover HS) started 45 games and hit .299 for the Paine Lions. He also scored 44 runs and had 19 doubles as a lead-off hitter. 
 
"Jalen is not only a terrific offensive player but he covers a lot of ground in center and has a cannon for an arm," said C2C President Kevin Ritter. "Best of all, he is an outstanding young man!" added Ritter.
