SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1 

A member of the travel staff will meet you at the gateway airport. After introductions and a short meeting with your teammates, you will board a flight to Germany. The overnight flight includes meals, movies, and beverage services.

Day 2

Arrive in Europe. After clearing German customs and immigration, you will transfer to Aalen (your first base in Germany). This afternoon you hit the field for your first workout at a local ballpark.

Day 3

The day begins with a morning workout session at the MTV Aalen Sports Complex. After lunch you will get a chance to see the local area aboard your luxury mortorcoach. In the evening, it痴 back to the Sports Complex for inter-squad games and training.

Day 4

After another morning workout session you will visit the medieval walled town of Rothenburg and enjoy a drive along the Romantic Road near the Schwabian Alps. This evening is back to workouts and/or inter-squad games.

Day 5

In the morning you値l visit the Neresheim Abbey and the picturesque town of Ulm, home to the Ulm Munster, one of Europe痴 tallest gothic cathedrals. In the afternoon you値l prepare for the weekend tournament by playing against local German competition. An evening barbecue hosted by the Aalen Strikers Baseball Club is planned tonight. Dinner will be served at the field where you値l have the chance to meet and mix with the German players.

Day 6

Tournament games either in the morning or afternoon followed by relaxation time at the Limes Thermen Spa. Located right next to your hotel, you値l enjoy the many heated pools, sauna, whirlpool, and aroma therapy rooms. Also, free time in the center of Aalen for shopping and sightseeing.

Day 7

The tournament continues with the final game scheduled for early evening. Dinner tonight will be at the MTV Aalen Sports Complex restaurant where you値l enjoy traditional German fare. Here you値l have a chance to say goodbye to your Schwabian hosts.

Day 8

An early morning departure on your luxury motorcoach takes you to Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Hotel check-in on arrival. This evening is free to get to know the city.

Day 9

This morning we値l take a guided tour of the Apeldoorn area. After lunch at a local bistro, we head to the ballpark for a warm-up game against a local Dutch club. The evening is free to enjoy the city.

Day 10

Today marks the opening of the 2002 Apeldoorn Baseball-Series. Round-robin games will determine your playoff seeding. While not on the field, visit the Palace Het Loo, former summer home of the Dutch royal family.

Day 11

Visit the Apenheul, or Ape Park, where you can pet, hold and even feed several species of monkey here in the park. Later, your tournament games continue in the round-robin phase of competition.

Day 12

Final round-robin games are played today. Explore the open-air market in the town square this morning. Good buys can be found if you are a shrewd shopper!

Day 13

Today is dedicated to the finals of the Series. Playoff games will depend on your seeding following the round-robin play. Following the Championship Game, a BBQ and farewell ceremony is planned.

Day 14

Depart for Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam and your flight home to the USA.  Arrive later this very same afternoon.
